What really matters is do you have an interest in goalkeeping? If you have developed a keen interest there is nothing that is going to prevent you from becoming an icon in the sports world. Note that besides those pre-set standards you can always come up with your own style of playing uniquely designed for you so, it not good to listen to what people have to say about you.
Being a soccer goalkeeper, however, isn’t that easy as it may sound. It is sometimes dangerous given that you have to expose yourself to danger. Be it that you are going for the ball from the striker’s legs, you diving for a save or that you punching off a strong shot. To some degree, it exposes your body to some danger in one way or the other.
The basic thing to do to limit instances of danger to read and understand goalkeeping limits. You really don’t have to expose your body to prove a point your health should, in fact, come at the forefront. So the secret is just o for the ball when you think it is safe to do so.

Ball familiarity, learn how to handle the ball and learn how to juggle that ball in a professional way. Handling the ball includes learning to both use the hands and the legs don’t focus on the hands forgetting that the legs also play a role in goalkeeping. Learning such skills such as clearing the ball and making accurate there is no way you are going to learn to this if you are going to just focus on hands.
Be positive about what you do. As noted early this a challenging position to play in. The challenges don’t come from the professional part but rather come in form of complaints from fans and other players. If you don’t develop a positive attitude towards the game and especially the position you play in you certainly won’t go far.
